NASA Contest Wants Your Ideas to Keep Astronauts Safe on Mars

To prepare for future colonies on Mars, NASA is asking the public for ideas on how to keep Red Planet astronauts safe that require minimal resupplies from Earth.
The "Journey to Mars Challenge" will give a $5,000 award to each of the three winning participants who describe an original idea that could assist the human exploration of Mars.

Just like in the film Gattaca showing a future society controlled by governmental monitoring where everybody is DNA profiled and tested for optimum “valid” citizenship allowing only the best and pure to gain wealth, prestige, and honor in a cold world run by overzealous profiling.

But today in reality the Government is alarmingly following in the fictional film’s footsteps and has declared it wants more than just DNA samples from every citizen as stated by Senator Ted Cruz. Happy Chinese New Year

The Chinese New Year starts on February 10, 2013 ushering in the Year of the Water Snake. Change is in the air and the inclinations promote an expansion of knowledge and moving into new territory. This fortunate time marks symbols of longevity, prosperity, and a chance to eradicate any negative vibrations or chi from the past. This is a good year for more organization, motivation, and determination on intellectual pursuits. Remembering Neil Armstrong

American astronaut Neil Armstrong has died on Saturday, August 25th, 2012. He had undertaken a heart procedure and did not recover. He was 82. Deeply sad news. The Apollo moon landing happened on July 20th, 1969 and was broadcast worldwide. It feels as if Flash Gordon has past away. I can remember growing up always wanted to be an astronaut or a member of the Star Trek crew venturing into outer space and on a mission boldly going where no man has gone before.

Today, watching the NASA space shuttles launch into orbit to a waiting space station became routine, but still thrilling and dangerous. All astronauts are brave and courage for doing what they love to do. To fly into outer space and accomplishing something very few people have ever done, and keeping a cool head when they do it. I’m still longing for that pristine future presented in the 1968 classic sci-fi film 2001: A Space Odyssey. Yes, we all wanted that remarkable futuristic world with flying cars, moon bases, huge circular space stations, and brave astronauts leading the way to other planets like Venus, Mars, and beyond.

But history will show kindly that the first men to reach the moon came back humbled and proud. The sight of the most beautiful cool blue world known to man as Earth is incomparable as seen from the moon‘s surface. So thanks Neil Armstrong for making a giant leap for mankind and showing the world that it is possible to walk on another planetoid. He is truly an inspiration. God speed.

I'm happy to report on new technology that is developing in 2012. The new Smartwatch that is a totally hands-free device that could substitute your old cell phone. Creating a Smartwatch is the next evolution that works in combination with your iPhone or Android. A new Dick Tracy style-watch niche is born with caller voice communication, hands-free texting, and voice command apps all in your future Smartwatch called the Martian. I’m intrigued with such concepts that are long overdue and might improve safety from distracting hand-held cell phones. Let Us All Unite!

This is Charlie Chaplin's speech from The Great Dictator. Chaplin wrote, produced, and directed this film in 1940, about a man who is mistaken for the local dictator ruler of a warring country. In this scene Chaplin gives a stirring speech of things to come. Instead of war, he pleas for peace, instead of hate, he promotes love, instead of killing, he wants life, and goes on to perfectly describe the machine men with machine hearts who want to rule over the sheep and bring them to slaughter. A very powerful speech with prophetic words about a bleak future we may be already heading. These predictions and insights are amazing. It will blow you away with the truth.
